From tomorrow (Tuesday the 18th of February), Govanhill’s Victoria Road will be closed whilst essential works are carried out along the busy street.

Pedestrian pathways will remain open, however drivers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly as there will be no access for cars between the Queens Park & Allison Street junctions whilst resurfacing works of the busy carriageway is completed.

Popular First Bus services 4, 4A, 5, and 6 will be taking diverted routes as well, with a slight alteration to avoid the works by taking Alison Street to Cathcart Road.

For the full diversion route, see First Bus: firstbus.co.uk

The road is expected to reopen by 6pm on Wednesday, with signposted diversions in place whilst the essential works take place. Cycle lanes will remain open for the duration of the works, Glasgow City Council have confirmed.
