Communities worldwide have shown solidarity for the Palestinian people, and Govanhill is no different. Through music, art, food, and talks, people continue to raise awareness and funds for Palestine. This article brings you news of the latest events taking place in our neighbourhood.

Loneliness and social isolation affect many people, even in our densely populated neighbourhood. For many these feelings were heightened during lockdowns. But Covid restrictions were lifted almost two years ago, and since then, there has been a resurgence of community spaces opening their doors to welcome people in. 

This year Greater Govanhill and The Ferret hosted the final Mind The Health Gap event as the year long project comes to a close. We summarised the key insights from the event below.

Protestors gathered opposite Elder Park to protest the factories ties to Israel, whilst the people of Palestine have called for the world to not go to work or school in support of the country.
