LGBT+ Open Mic Night

Open mic night in Govanhill to tackle mental health stigma

The Bee’s Knees cafe will play host to an open mic night to help challenge negative attitudes and behaviours.

On Friday 3 February, people are invited to the cafe on Bowman Street in Glasgow, where music and spoken word performances will touch on the theme of mental health – particularly addressing stigma and discrimination.

The event is being organised by Rose O’Doherty, who is a volunteer with See Me Proud, a group tackling mental health stigma in the LGBT+ community, run by LGBT Health and Wellbeing and See Me.

The event will run from 6pm to 8pm in the Bee’s Knees Café on Bowman Street in Govanhill. Places are limited to 20 people, and tea, coffee and cakes will be on sale on the evening.
Those interested in performing should contact Rose at rosefabae@yahoo.co.uk to confirm a place.

Time: 6-8pm
