Govanhill Community Litter Pick — Saturday 26 October
Join the Govanhill Community Litter Pick group for a special litter pick this weekend and make your own costume from recyclables; the best costume winner will get a prize at the end of the day. So don’t miss out on the next big litter pick this autumn before the wintertime kicks in.
Another month has flown by, which can only mean one thing…the Govanhill Litter Pick group are back with another community clean-up on the last Saturday of the month (26 October).
You probably don’t need a reminder of the nip in the air as we edge into the darker days and nights of autumn and winter, but the group are encouraging those who can, to join them for one last litter pick before the weather worsens.
The Govanhill Liiter Pick group will continue their monthly clean-ups after the winter, but in the meantime we can confirm that there are some smaller events currently being planned by the group before then to continue the momentum we and all the other volunteers and supporters of the community clean-ups have built up before we all hunkering down for the holidays.
And since it will likely be the last outdoor activity planned this year, it is going to be a fun celebration. Inspired by the spooky season, the group are running a home-made costume competition using recycled materials for young ones (and older ones too!), with a prize for the winner at the end.
As always, refreshments will be provided at the Govanhill Free Church after the litter pick at around 12pm. The group will once again meet in the church at 10:30am before getting started at 11am.
