(DIS)COMFORT: “Paradoxes of the Heart”

Step into (DIS)COMFORT: “Paradoxes of the Heart”

Inspired by Noel Carroll’s “Philosophy of Horror,”, this 3-day exhibition explores the unsettling relationship between fear and attraction, comfort and discomfort. Featuring works by Katherine Chapman, Laurie Gribben, and Alex Pelouch, this event delves into the psychological and emotional intricacies of horror. Each piece challenges you to confront your own thresholds of discomfort and find unexpected solace within.

The exhibition will feature a curated selection of contemporary artworks juxtaposed with seminal horror films, creating a dialogue between visual art and cinema.

Opening Night: Screening of Dario Argento’s “Suspiria” followed by a panel discussion led by artist Luke Shand, unpacking the themes and concepts driving this unique exhibition.

Closing Night: Screening of Andrzej Zulawski’s “Possession.”

August 1-3, 2024
OFFLINE, 138 Niddrie Rd, Glasgow
