Consultation on Southside Liveable Neighbourhoods

Glasgow’s Liveable Neighbourhoods is a scheme run by Glasgow City Council that aims to make our neighbourhoods accessible and healthy places that allow people of all ages and abilities, to play and socialise outdoors in their local area, as well as making walking, cycling and public transport their first choice.

The scheme is running public consultations with local residents to identify opportunities in the neighbourhoods that respond to local needs and aspirations.

Things they would like to discuss include Local Town Centres, Everyday Journeys, Active Travel, and Streets for People.

In the Southside, there are two different areas: Mansewood to Shawlands which includes Mansewood, Pollokshaws, Shawlands, Strathbungo and Pollokshields West, and Pollokshields East to Gorbals which includes Pollokshields East, Govanhill and Gorbals.

The two different areas have a number of different events and pop-ins where you can find out about the project and have your say on what you think could improve your neighbourhood.

For the Pollokshields East to Gorbals area, one of these events will be held at The Community Newsroom on 9th February, 12-2pm with translators for Urdu, Romanian, Arabic and Farsi.
