The Queens Park Collaborative Improvement Project Launch Want Residents to Have Their Say on Queens Park Playground

Queen’s Park Play Area was in a terrible state – so bad that it had to be closed due to safety concerns. After a petition, a protest and some press, the play park reopened before the summer holidays in 2022.

The park is now ‘safe’ but new equipment is desperately needed to provide age-appropriate inclusive play opportunities for all children.

The council have agreed to the redevelopment of the space, but residents can now have their say. Fill in this form

About The Project

The Queens Park Collaborative Improvement Project aims to bring local stakeholders together for the purposes of refurbishing the main playground in Queens Park, located off Balvicar Street on the northwest boundary of this expansive Southside recreational area.

As part of this effort, Friends of Queens Park, a local committee dedicated to maintaining and improving the park, has formed a working group to conduct consultations with community members to inform construction plans for the refurbishment.

Our survey is an effort to consult with local parents/carers living in neighbouring wards. If you are a parent/carer living in either the Pollokshields, Langside, or Govanhill wards, we welcome your input on this survey to inform construction plans for the refurbishment of the main playground.
