On Saturday 13 August Women on Wheels are holding a free cycle festival between 9am and 9pm for women ( in all their diverse forms).
For too long women have been under-represented in cycling and we're here to change that. We are Community Cycling Hub based in Govanhill, for women, designed and led by women.
In Queens Park ( Victoria road entrance) we will have the following from 9am for women:
Hourly group cycle lessons ( Bike and equipment provided)
Confidence Building led rides leaving every 1.5 hours ( Bikes and equipment provided)
Dr Bike to help look over your trusty steed from 10.30 am
Info stall
Bling your bike
Arts and crafts (open to all)
Also from 9.30am at our Women on Wheels Hub we will have maintenance classes running every hour covering m-checks and simple roadside repairs till 6.30 pm.
Location: Govanhill Workspace, Unit 4, 69 Dixon Road, G42 8AT ( enter via car park)
The day will culminate in a celebration at our Hub between 7 am and 9 pm with a film screening, and an inspirational talk by Aneela McKenna over some food and refreshments.
It doesn't matter if you are a cyclist or have never ridden a bike - come and join us and spread the word.
Extra info: No need to book - all activities are free and drop in.
