This workshop is a chance to sink into the plant world and explore what we can learn when we pay attention while drinking a mystery herbal tea. We will get cosy and learn directly from the plant and our bodies. The chosen herb will be safe for everyone to consume.

Participants will be sent a small package containing a few teabags of mystery herb and a guidance sheet to help us make notes during the workshop.

Please note: You will need to purchase the herbal tea pack with your ticket. These are available as 'Add-Ons' from Eventbrite, and are priced as pay-what-you-can, from £0-£4.50.

We will come together to make tea, and then get comfy and ease into our bodies with a led grounding exercise. We will then follow a path set out for us by herbalists over time. We will methodically go through our senses and explore felt bodily actions while ingesting the tea. This will also be led but we will make individual notes, coming back together afterwards to share what we found. We will then collectively find out what the herb was and look it up to see how our felt experiences correlate with online resources and scanned herbal books. This is a great way to learn about herbal medicine and requires no experience at all.

About the workshop leader:

Ju is a lay herbalist and has been involved in herbal projects for the past 5 years. They co-ran a monthly mystery herbal tea tasting group for about 2 years and are excited by pedagogy that empowers people to access the knowledge they already have. They are keen to create communal spaces that support the sharing of collective tools for embodiment and resilience.
