Glasgow Women of Colour Cycling Group will be launching with a panel discussion on Friday the 10th of September at 6pm at Bike For Good’s Glasgow South Hub.

Aneela Mckenna will be joining as a panel member. She is a diversity and inclusion specialist, an incredible mountain biker and an inspirational ambassador for women in and wanting to get into cycling. She will be joined by a range of local Women of Colour from Glasgow, from experienced cyclists to those who have just started out on their cycling journey.

The evening will consist of a panel discussion about journeys into cycling, the barriers faced and how panel members overcame them. The panel will also discuss how The Women of Colour Cycle Group can increase diversity in cycling. Everyone in the audience will be invited to share their ideas for the group, so everyone can contribute to how it will evolve for all women of colour in Glasgow.

A screening of Pedal Pathways, a film about women learning to ride bikes organised by Bike for Good and Glendale Women’s Cafe, will also be shown.

Food and drinks will be provided.

Sign up here and spread the word. Remember, it does not matter if you don’t currently cycle!
