Share Your Views on Additional Lighting for Queen’s Park

Glasgow City Council and Greenspace Scotland are looking into options for additional lighting in Queen’s Park. This is a key safety issue that is highlighted regularly by residents. Inform the decision making by taking part in a survey to share your views and how you use the park.

Notice from Greenspace Scotland:

We’re looking for local knowledge and expertise from Greater Govanhill to help us with a project exploring options for additional lighting in Queen’s Park. In advance of workshops this Oct/Nov within Queen’s Park we’d like info about how people use the park along with their views on safety and lighting.

Click on the link below to complete the survey: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/QUEENSPK/

Completing the survey will take about 10 mins and the deadline for submissions is Tue 27 September 22. The information received will help to shape the workshops and give us the views of people who can’t attend in person.

More Information

Glasgow City Council has committed to look into providing sensitive lighting solutions in parks, which consider both equality and climate impacts. To explore the benefits, issues and implications of lighting in parks greenspace scotland and Glasgow City Council will be using a placemaking approach in three pilot parks - Cranhill Park, Kelvingrove Park and Queens Park.

Read the Parks Lighting Update report for more background info. Workshops will take place at night within each park during Oct/Nov and will provide opportunities for community discussions about park safety, enabling a wider perspective and testing grounds to review different approaches to lighting in parks.

We will be sending out invitations to the workshops very soon but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like more information. We thank you in advance for giving your time to complete the survey and for sharing your views.
