Melting Pot heading back to Queen's Park Arena
After a long year of empty dance floors, the team behind one of the UK’s longest running club nights have announced they’ll be celebrating 20 years of Melting Pot, with partner Heverlee, with a series of parties at the Queen’s Park Arena.
Following on from the success of 2019’s sell-out events, Melting Pot and Heverlee are returning to the bandstand to bring Glasgow three dates of dancing in the leafy confines of this Southside venue.
On Saturday the 14th of August and Sunday 19 September, the arena will be transformed into a disco wonderland as Queen’s Park Disco Sessions returns with a soundtrack influenced by some of New York’s most famous venues of that era including Paradise Garage and Studio 54. The glamour and decadence of the glittering age of disco with drag artists paired with Melting Pot’s quality production and a state of the art sound system makes this a party not to be missed.
Sunday will be hosted by the force of nature that is Optimo (Espacio) who take the helm, as Twitch and Wilkes guide music lovers through a sonic journey. Optimo threw the rule book out the window and made Sunday nights the new Saturday night for almost two decades during their world-renowned Sub Club residency - you had to be down early to have a chance of getting into their nights. They’ll be continuing this Sunday tradition in the park on 15th August.
Melting Pot and Heverlee are partnering with some of the Southside creative music and artist projects including Radio Buena Vida community radio, Some Great Reward record store and local artist Molly Hankinson - who created the Queen’s Park Disco Sessions artwork.
