Glasgow’s first E-Cargo Bike Lending Library Launched to Tackle Local Business Carbon Emissions

Glasgow cycling charity Bike for Good have launched the city’s first E-Cargo bike lending library, aimed at local businesses to enable them to decrease their carbon footprint.

The charity is offering 15 businesses the opportunity to benefit from borrowing one of their brand new E-Cargo bikes, additionally providing access to confidence-building sessions, roadside maintenance, and purchasing advice.

Utilising an E-Cargo bike will bring about financial, health, and environmental benefits for businesses that take part.

Light goods vans account for 25% of motorised transport in British cities, and vans in the parcel and delivery sector in the UK emit more than 10 tonnes of C02e annually. By taking vans off the road and replacing them with innovative urban E-Cargo bikes, we will see a reduction in road congestion and carbon emissions, and an increase in air quality and efficiency.
