Over four sessions, learns skills in storytelling to capture the histories and characters that make Govanhill what it is today.
Facilitated for Greater Govanhill by audio/visual producers Sam Gonçalves and Flora Zajicek, the workshops will help underrepresented voices explore new storytelling skills, from finding stories and interviewing to creating evocative video and audio art.
The workshops form part of Greater Govanhill’s broader heritage project, which aims to tell the stories of Govanhill and its residents over the years: from a tiny rural village, to ‘no man’s land’, to the bustling neighbourhood it is today.
To date, the project has generated talks, walking tours, photography projects – and issue 15 of our magazine, which focussed on exploring local heritage.
We hope to display the audio-visual results of our workshops in an exhibition, showcase them online, and release as a podcast. Spaces are free but limited, so if you’re interested send us your details through the form below.
