In 2021 hundreds organised in Pollokshields’ Kenmure Street, preventing the UK Home Office from taking their neighbours during a dawn raid. Five years later, filmmaker Felipe Busto Sierra, premiers, Everybody to Kenmure Street, at the 2026 Glasgow Film Festival, documenting the events of the day.

On May 13, 2021, a Home Office dawn raid on Kenmure Street sparked a mass protest, resulting in the release of two detained men after an eight-hour standoff. Filmmaker Felipe Bustos Sierra is crowdfunding to create an immersive documentary, Everybody to Kenmure Street, to capture the community's defiance.

During lockdown, Greater Govanhill editor Rhiannon reported on how some community spaces were supporting those in need by providing food provisions. Three years on, little has changed, except for the increase in the number of people seeking support.
