Greater Govanhill is a community magazine - and by that we mean that it should feature many different voices to truly reflect the diversity of this neighbourhood. It’s a platform where you can reclaim the narrative, and tell the story in your own words.

Our Values

Greater Govanhill is a not-for-profit community magazine, registered as a community interest company. As such it will be guided by a set of values:

  • We take a solutions-focused approach when covering any topic. We don’t shy away from serious issues, but look to see how others may have found answers to big questions.

  • We provide a platform for marginalised voices to tell their stories in their own words.

  • We don’t take an exploitative approach to personal stories.

  • We balance negative perceptions of the area through promotion of positive news stories.

  • We avoid sensationalism in favour of stories that have real depth.
