About
Greater Govanhill CIC was established in 2020 – created by local residents of Govanhill to challenge negative stereotypes, break down cultural barriers, bring people together while providing a space to learn new skills and share resources.
We provide a print and digital platform to underrepresented voices in the media and aim to equip our community members with the necessary skills and tools to tell their own stories in their own words.
It is through sharing stories, photography, and knowledge our community members foster cross-cultural understanding and become more actively engaged in the community. We are intentional in engaging and partnering with underrepresented communities and populations within Govanhill.
These include Roma, Muslim, LGBTQ+, socially and economically disadvantaged, asylum seekers, and people of various ages.
Our aim is that through engagement with our organisation community members feel empowered and included as part of the Greater Govanhill community.
